[Blindtlk] [Blindly] [Blindly] Digital Braille Clock?

A different technology might offer a smaller profile, but current
piezoelectric refreshable Braille cells, in attrition to being over half an
inch high, have a long extension, perpendicular to the cell, extending a
couple inches.

Wow, actually I had not thought about that as I just assumed that most of
the bulk is due to the internals (e.g., circuit boards...). I figured the
pins were actually only a few millimeters thick). Oops, I got that one
wrong:)!
Happy week all!

Another thing is that they would be very bulky, as braille pins are long,
when you think about the thickness of a braille display.

The closest thing would be the talking watches and clocks. I've also
thought a digital braille display watch or clock would be great, but any
kind of display, as I understand it, is expensive to produce.

HI All,
Does anyone know if there is such a thing as a digital braille watch or
alarm clock (note meaning completely separate from something like a
BrailleNote...)? I have never understood why such a thing could not be
produced as a stand alone watch or clock given that many of the refreshable
braille displays have them. I am aware of the analog clocks/watches, but
would prefer digital (especially as an alarm clock).
Have a great end of the weekend all!
Chris
