Hello Danielle and everyone,
The Doberman Pinscher and the Miniature Pinscher (Minpin) are
entirely separate breeds. The Doberman and German Pinschers were bread for
guard work while the Minpin was developed as a companion animal. The
Doberman and German Pinschers are classified by the American Kennel Club as
working dogs but the Minpin is recognized as a toy breed. Being strictly a
companion animal the Minpin would not have the same guarding instinct as
would the Doberman and German Pinschers. Hope this answers your question.
