Hi Julie,

Google Docs is accessible both using Windows with JAWS and iOS with 
Voiceover.

The Google help documentation is ok, and they have also done some videos 
using Google Dos with a Windows screen reader, though if memory serves, it 
was with NVDA rather than JAWS.  Both the help documentation and videos 
should be findable if you do a Google search.

There are a couple of things to bear in mind when using Windows.

You’ll need to enable screen reader support, this is toggled with control 
alt z.

For best results, you’ll need to turn off the virtual cursor using JAWS 
key+z.  This applies to your use of Google Apps generally, not just Google 
Docs.

You’ll also want to enable braille support from the accessibility menu in 
Google Docs, even if you don’t have a braille display.  Otherwise, your 
screen reader’s key echo setting won’t be respected, and each character will 
be voiced as you type regardless of what you have JAWS set to announce.
