[Blindtlk] line numbering

How do I make jaws say numbers just in the document ai want it to, and not default.  Even when I turned it on in word, I couldn't get it to do so.  I could use insert delete to hear each line number. I went to page lay out under margins with alt p s p, and found the line numbers on the page layout tab.   I used alt n to get to line numbering.  I checked the box, then told it to only do so for the current document.  I couldn't here them with jaws.

Hi Justin,

It depends a bit on what you want JAWS to do.  Do you want it to announce the line numbers as you arrow up and down the document, or do you want to use a keystroke to find out what line number you’re on?

If  I you want to do the former, you can add line numbers to a Word Document which will show in the left hand margin.  How you do this will depend on the version of Word you’re running.

If you want to accomplish the latter, I.E. to know what line you’re on at any given time, reading the status bar with JAWS key page down will tell you what page and line number you’re on.
