The new slot machines have all manner of noises and lights and flashy things
to hold your attention... They look more like video games now than slot
machines.

The clink of money could be added in electronically to slot machines if the
manufacturers were even interested. That clink in the past was
intentionally used to get player's attention so I can't figure why casinos
took slot machines with that feature entirely removed.
