[Blindtlk] question about card games

Sometimes if you hit, you get dumped into a video game. I remember having to go and find someone to tell me what a machine was doing, and it involved using a joystick to move things around. Personally, I'll stich to craps or roulette. Despite its accessibility. Blackjack doesn't like me.

One thing to keep in mind is that if you are totally blind, it can be very difficult to operate most slot machines these days. There are no levers to pull or any mechanical aspects to the slot machines, they are all totally electronic, and each one is different.

What happens is that you put in your money and it shows you have credits, then you have to select how much of your credit you want to play on a pull, and then if you win it will ask you if you want to let it ride, or cash out, and then the process starts over again.

At none of these points in the game will the machine talk to you -- it is all blips and buzzes and dinging bells. If a sighted person walks you through the first cycle, you can probably keep playing for a while, although you won't know how much you win if and when you win. If guys in suits suddenly show up, you'll know you won a lot! *smile*

Anyone playing slots at a casino if possible first ought to do a couple things. In towns with multiple casinos play at the casinos farthest away from the major casinos. In Las Vegas stay as far away from the Strip as possible and odds will be better for winning.
Next, when picking a slot machine to play try to find one near a door or in centers of aisles or in corners. The odds on those slot machines are slightly better since casinos use these machines to get people's attention directed to the slot machines in the first place.
