[Blindtlk] Driverless Cars

As reported in the November Braille Monitor, President Riccobono gave many
delegates to the World Blind Union meeting in Orlando a brief ride around
the hotel parking lot. So although there is probably no current development
on this blind-driveable car, it has not sat completely unused. I don't know
more concerning the work with Virginia Tech which could not be continued, or
anything else about this project. But we did get some mileage out of it,
both literally and figuratively.

Hi,

Colaberation with google was refused because it had to be their way or no
way,
Expense of the car cost 10-15% of national center staff their jobs, and
Apparently it was used for one demonstration at Daytona then left to sit in
a garage for ever more!

Hi Brian,

I don't know what happened with the NFB car; could you please explain more?
I'm really interested.

Hi,

Did you see what happened with the nfb car? How do you think the insurance
companies/lawyers are going to approve owners any time soon? Even with a
great-paying job, will anyone be able to afford one?

Hi everyone,

Happy New Year!

What is your opinion of driver-less cars? Personally, I can't wait for their
arrival on the road! I'm totally blind from birth and would like the chance
to drive, just to feel what it feels like. My best friend, who happens to be
sighted, feels otherwise though.

How about you?
