You could set up a local box on your computer, POP3. The only thing about
POP3 is that your messages are stored on the local machine only and not on
the internet.
However, to solve that, set up an Imap account so you can have the luxury of
a local inbox but have everything stored online. The Imap does not solve
the no connectivity problem, but if you had a local box on your machine, you
could opt to work off-line.

So the Internet is constantly out on a daily basis over here. Anybody
who might need to know, I do not recommend Suddenlink! As a result
along with the massive amounts of emails from my lists I can't get
caught up and cleared out like I used to. OE had the ability to work
off-line, but Gmail does not. Consequently, I have more influx than
reduction. Is there any way for me to do this,? I could read and
delete to my heart's content and anything I had outbound would be sent
once I was online again.

have been all of these.
