When I broke my foot, I used an office chair quite a bit around the house. 
In the kitchen I would rest my knee on it or sit in between doing things. 
I don't think it would be high enough to work comfortably at the kitchen
counters while sitting .  There are wheelchairs specifically designed for 
activities that require more height.   I've read about people using them for

kitchen activities, but I don't know any more than that.

A couple other ideas would be to use a table for prep work instead of the
higher counters.  Or use a large cutting board in the lap to do the prep
work, depending on what exactly needs to be done.

You could use a wheelchair. Many office chairs might work for it, too, but I
don't know what precipitates the need.

Does anyone know of anything which will allow someone to maneuver around a
kitchen and reach the height of an average kittchen counter without having
to walk, like some sort of chair easy to role or something?
