[BlindTlk] Most Walkable Cities... How accurate is this?

Hello,

One thing some of the larger towns are now facing in WA state are the
vehicle-share programs where a person can pay for the bike, or the car, or
the scooter through the phone app, unlock it with a code given by the
company, drive it to its destination and lock it and leave it.

In the case of bikes and scooters, they have obstructed doorways,
crosswalks, bus stops and basically blocked the line of travel blind persons
depend on. It is a good idea for those of us who are concerned to check
with their city councils to make sure that rules are in place to control
these companies. One idea has been designated parking areas for these
vehicles. Another is detectible spaces by a blind person. Yet another idea
has been to ticket the company for a parking violation they would pass on to
the renter of the vehicle.

The e-scooters also can travel at quite a fast speed and endanger other
disabled populations who cannot move out of the way quickly enough to avoid
an accident.

Judy
