Good Morning Dave:
Fortunately, we have a few resources within the Federation who are music educators. Leslie Hamric, a Board member of our Performing Arts Division, is a wonderful musician and teacher who teaches Braille music lessons via Skype and FaceTime as well as in person. She is based in Illinois and is willing to negotiate on prices. Linda Mentink of the Blind Musicians Group is also a good and experienced teacher from Nebraska who focuses on piano and vocal music. However, I don't know if she does lessons remotely. Please write to me off list if you would like contact information for either of those ladies.
Also, Dancing Dots has a series of Braille music courses which include Braille and print books for students and teachers. These courses provide an opportunity for sighted teachers and blind students to work together on the same level since the sighted teacher can see visually the Braille music the student is reading along with its print counterpart. I have used these books for piano lessons and music theory classes, and I have found them to be great tools. Hope this helps!
