[BlindTlk] UNACCEPTABLE! Ross Employees Refuses To Help Blind Man Shop Because Of "Policy" | The Blind Advocate

A friend of mine had been sent to the store, and on the list was a chore girl. For those of you who don't remember or know what that is, it is a type of scrubber for sinks and counter tops.

This guy was shopping with another mail employee, and neither knew what a chore girl was, so after some discussion, they deduced it must be like Jello, so he picked up a box of Jello.

Not quite sure of that logic, but that's what happened.

And I might add to your excellent points; don't be afraid to ask the custermer service person, "Let me feel it" or "Can you please read off the complete label info"; just to make sure they're getting what you want.
There's nothing more disappointing than coming home and while putting your groceries away; finding out that it's not even close to what you had asked for.

I walk around with the person who is picking up my items for me. Keep in mind that there are different brands of each product in a store. The Customer Service representatives do not know what their customers need unless they shop with the same person on a regular basis. Before going shopping, I would recommend that you make a grocery list of the products that you use regularly along with the brands and quantities of each. This information is helpful for the individual who is assisting a customer with their shopping.
