[BlindTlk] Online Education

I have attended college on physical campuses and online, and feel they each have advantages and disadvantages. I liked online learning because it was much more convenient in that I not only didn't have to travel to campus but could work on my own schedule as long as assignments were completed by their assigned deadlines. The biggest downside I have found to online learning is that it does not usually produce the kind of discussion and interaction you can get when meeting with the professor and your classmates in-person. Depending on how classes are conducted and which platform is used, there are ways to hold discussions, but my experience with online learning has mostly been through the platform Blackboard and, while you can post discussions and can certainly still learn from one another, it is not the same as spontaneous interactions. I did find Blackboard to be very accessible with JAWS and did not have any trouble completing assignments on it. For me, I liked online learning and felt it worked well for me, but I had sighted classmates who didn't always agree and didn't feel they got as much out of it, so it's something that has to come down to personal preferences.

Hi Everyone,I asked the same question that I'm getting ready to ask in this post but I didn't get any replies to the previous question so here we go again!I attended college both on campus (for my A.s. degree here I got introduced to online learning) and I decided to pursue my B.S. degree completely online. I would like to ask those  of you who are holding college degrees and to those  of you who are planning to go back into higher education land, how do you feel about online education? Do  like it?  How did the software used by your university  work with your assistive technology (Jaws Nvda).Me personally, I liked online education!!!The university was comparitiblewith jaws and Nvda both.Thank you and have a Merry Christmas!P.s.I may have post this online education question to the job mailing listSo, my bad!
