In our state the ACB and NFB have worked together very nicely on issues concerning all blind, and continue to do so.
My husband and I have visited the local WCB chapter, since there is no NFB in our area, and we wanted to meet blind people after having moved here. I had never been to one of their meetings before, and there is a way different feel from any of the NFB chapters I've had the pleasure to be a part of. The first impression my husband and Ihad was that the "electricity" was missing.
In this particular chapter, Robert's Rules are loosely followed. Introductions of people include your name and about your eye condition if you have one. There are a few very dedicated and hard-working individuals in the group, but many do not want to do anything.
Our state president has been very warm and welcoming, and a couple have called into our monthly chapter-at-large phone meeting.
Since unemployment is still at an alltime low for us, and we have so many issues on the table, Chris and I have wondered, if we could couple the ACB money with the NFB philosophy and form one group to really get things done, what that would look like.
There is a vitality to the NFB, that I haven't seen so far, but understand my exposure to WCB is limited. The chapter has made us very welcome, and considers us honorary members, we are told. I have shared what the NFB is doing in our state, and forward any announcements.

We’re always told to have an arsenal of tools so that were prepared for any occasion we need to adapt to. What’s wrong with this list advertising if it would benefit someone. I wish that NFB and the ACB would work together instead of fighting like rwo bullies. Most younger generations don’t even know why there’s two separate groups in the first placeI Eyes On Success with hosts Peter and Nancy Torpey glad that they advertise here every week.
