Thanks Steve for your advice. Sometimes that works, sometimes it doesn’t. I was thinking the same thing when troubleshooting. most of the time it doesn’t.

If you set VoiceOver up so you can turn it on and off with three presses of the HOME button or the side button on later iPhones, than you can avoid rebooting by turning VoiceOver off by pressing three times rapidly and then turn it on by pressing three times rapidly again. This has worked well for me. It is likely that it isn't your entire phone that is frozen, but just VoiceOver. On the phones that don't have the mechanical HOME button and the side button is used, it is suggested that you might want to turn off the feature that makes an emergency 911 call if pressed five times quickly.

The only reason you’re getting this email is because I was smart enough to enlarge things a bit. I have to admit that the black screen thing is helpful. Anyone else who upgraded to iOS 13 having issues like this? I admit I have an iPhone 6s Plus so it’s on the outs for support. Thing is my husband who has a seven is having the same troubles I think. Thankfully he’s told me that when he can he’s going to buy me a new phone so I don’t have to pay the charges want to month. We are moving, so we don’t want to have any extra bills.
