It is kool that you know how to develop smart phone apps. I have been using the tutorials on hackingwithswift.com to learn about developing iPhone apps.

Subject: Re: [BlindTlk] introducing myself

Hello Ryan,

I am also an avid listener of audiobooks. I would also love to share my story & about my profession. I had been steadily losing vision and realized six years back that I just cannot read anything at all. Even though I have worked for over 20 years with large multinational companies (Unilevers, Motorolla, Quest Diagnostics) this loss of vision dealt a huge blow to my confidence. I was sitting at home for nearly 2.5 years just being very unsure if I would still have the capability or the skill to perform a job. When I started my consulting assignment within a week, I realized that this fear/lack of confidence was purely in my mind & in reality I could independently handle 95% of what I could do earlier with a better vision. Having won over the fears in my mind, the upshot is that today I'm running a Tech Start-Up and building the App for Visually Impaired people. I have built a voice app which can take voice commands and do each and everything within supported Apps (WhatsApp, YouTube, Uber Booking, Managing Contacts, Phone Calls). I'm happy to share the Link of the App Video (Louie Voice Control) https://youtu.be/F0-y7087Kzg
I'm doing so in the hope that many in the community could try out the App and help me with their suggestions on how to improve it further. P.S. I have Macular Degeneration

Regards,
Pramit

Hello. I just subscribed today. In my free time, I like listening to
music, listening to audio books, swimming and dabbling into programming
languages. For a living, I work as an assistive technology instructor. I
have a side business of doing technical support. I can help with PC's,
Apple devices and echo devices. I also just started a blog where I will
post about technology. Right now, I just have one post about using an Orbit
Braille display, but I will have more posts soon. In fact, I may post about
the new IOS update that is being released today. The link to the blog is:
