            TikTok has become an extremely popular social media platform for all kinds of content from fun prank videos to people sharing their opinions on politics.

            TikTok is also used by tons of creators with disabilities, like me. But the app isn’t exactly inclusive. I have a vision disability, and since there aren’t any options to change text style or size, it can be really difficult for me to use the app, especially when it comes to live streaming. I started making videos, campaigning to get TikTok to make changes about six months ago. But even after millions of views and thousands of comments tagging them, TikTok still hasn’t responded 

            I want TikTok to add more options for customizing the visuals on their app, especially text. this is far from an impossible task. Many platforms have similar options, and Apple even has a developer guide that helps app developers implement their built-in accessibility features.

            This isn’t just about me. there is so much more that TikTok needs to do to make their platform a space where disabled people feel they belong. I hope that getting TikTok to make this change can start more conversations about accessibility and inclusivity of the platform in general and it can become more and more accessible for people with disabilities.
