Yes you do need to be signed in.  That is how Office 365 is activated.  To sign in, do the following:
Open Word, Excel or PowerPoint.
Press Alt F.
Down arrow to Account.  If you don’t find Account, down arrow to More Options and press Enter.  Then down arrow to account.
Press Enter.
If you are not signed in, you should be able to tab through that window and put in your account information.

I have a question about ms office 365 and using jaws. MMy question, do I
need to be signed into ms office 365 to work on documents and such? Because
I notice that while I'm typing documents, I'm  getting "sign in is
required."Or, I'll get "upload a file."Thanks for any feedback
