Pamela,
By now your set top box may be defective. Can you key in a channel
number you know and then hit the bottom right button on your remote?
That's a second enter or okay button. You would need to key numbers in
quickly for this to have any chance of working. Another possibility is
you could be in channel surfing tab and if you right arrow once you
should get into on demand tab and there maybe channel numbers will work.
Last resort, Will Shell at dro at fcc.gov may be needed to help out. If
you have be my eyes on a phone they may be able to look at your screen
and tell you about other things going on text to speech isn't speaking.
This would be good to find out since verizon may need to add more stuff
to text to speech than battery status and Will Shell would know about
that and if necessary help you file a complaint.
