Yes, I used the Taylor slate as well, and typed in my homework answers.
When the teacher would want to know the process how you did the work, arriving at your answer, you could type that, too.

You're right Judy! Can one still buy a Taylor slate? So wish I had the 
opportunity to learn math in braille. I couldn't read my numbers or keep 
lines straight. Nothing lined up and I hated math! Did somehow survive 
Algebra and Geometry.
