[BlindTlk] A JAWS Trick for Badly Named Controls

Hi -

By way of introduction, I have been totally blind from birth. I am not a trainer, just someone who loves playing with her computer!

Anyway ...

When you come across a control with a misleading name...

Press CTRL+Insert+Tab. If you're using a laptop, it's CTRL+Caps Lock+Tab. This brings up the "Custom Label" dialogue box where you can type the label you want. I just used this trick with Yahoo Web Mail. The "To" space doesn't say anything useful, just "edit combo." The other spaces for a new message have good labels though. So I pressed CTRL+Insert+Tab and wrote "To" in the space.
