[BlindTlk] aph web site is a mess!

When I found card stock paper, I didn't think the price was that much better than the price of braille paper purchased from a braille paper supplier. However, there is no reason that card stock or even lighter paper can't work all right in a Perkins Brailler, Especially if it is braille you don't need to keep for a long time.

One has to be careful when using an embosser, though. Some paper that works fine in a printer is not designed to be embossed. Even if the braille is all right, it can shed a lot of fibers requiring more cleaning and maintenance of an embosser. I was having nothing but trouble with my embosser. I assumed my embosser was just getting old. I switched to American Thermoform braille paper for my embosser and all of the problems I had with my embosser disappeared. I am not saying they are the only good source, only that the quality of the paper is important even beyond the thickness. If you open a box of braille paper and it feels dusty, you might want to try a different source when you next order.

My point is only that there are a number of things to consider in addition to price.

Best regards,

Steve Jacobson

I found a couple different sizes of card stock at staples. The developers
must have done some work on the app since the second time I downloaded the
app after that one star rating and review I can search for products with
my Moto G-7 phone and talkback.
What I found was 8.5 by 11" paper which is not 11 by 11.5" paper which I
normally use. Too small. Another possibility is 8.5 by 14" legal-size
card stock. If I can get hard-cover notebook ring binders for that size
paper that may be a better option. I have a stainsby large frame machine
I can also use if this paper won't fit the perkins brailler too.
