I had to take home ec in junior high. We had to learn how to sew. My teacher went to the Light House in Manhattan to find out about teaching a blind person how to sew. She treated me just like everyone else. She even got me to wear a watch.

We made a dress in class, so I made a dress at home. We made lasagna in class, so I made lasagna at home. The only thing they finally let me do was stir the lasagna noodles. I think they also let me push the pedal on the sewing machine. And this was supposed to be a preparation for marriage type class. I'm glad I had my mother, or I wouldn't have learned anything from it. Pam.

>> The fitted sheets never look perfect when folded, because of those elastic pocket corners that mess up the lines of the sheet.
>>
>> Mom used to tuck the corners into each other when folding, but you don't have a perfectly folded sheet the way you would a pillow case, napkin or regular sheet.
>>
>> When folding sheets or towels anyway, I'm standing up, grab a corner in each hand and place them together making sure corners are as neat as you can get them, holding the corners, follow the edges back to the crease and grab it, it is your new corner.
>>
>> Now you have each hand holding right side and left side corners. Give it a snap by raising both hands hi and then down quickly to make it pop to get any wrinkles out of the crease. I fold again shortening the length more, snap it again.
>>
>> At some point, I hang the folded thing over my arm and press out any wrinkles by moving the other hand down over the item hanging on my arm.
>>
>> As the item gets smaller by folding, however you fold, you repeat hanging the thing over your arm, then maybe over your hand and smoothing out the final folds and creases with the other hand.
>>
>> So, the process in summary is regardless how you like to fold:
>> Bring corners evenly together, snap and smooth! Bring corners evenly together, snap and smooth! Hang over arm, smooth down, hang over arm, smooth down, hang over hand smooth down, then finally fold. Item is getting smaller and smaller as you fold.
>>
>> Have fun, and this is not a dumb question 😊

>> I know! This is a crazy question! Does anyone have verbal instructions on how to fold a fitted sheet to make it look nice? I have never learned a good way to do this! And yes, it took courage to ask this question, because i feel at my age, I should know! Thanks everyone!
