Are you saying that the sighted people are just telling you what you want to hear since people are often impressed with the blind and what we can do?

My husband's favorite is the side stroke.

My best one is the breast stroke.

I learned to swim mostly in camp, and a little bit by myself. I can't swim 
underwater, but above water, I can swim on my back or my stomach. I have 
only swum in pools. I don't think I look good doing it, but have been told 
I swim beautifully. But I think that's from prejudiced sighted people like 
my mother. Pam.

Oh yes!

I learned to swim at the Y when I was younger, but went overseas with my Air
Force family and didn't continue with it when we got back three years later.

So I'm an OK swimmer.

Now, my husband learned to swim as a kid, and swims like a fish and is his
favorite activity. He swims in pools, lakes, wherever.
