[BlindTlk] question about shipping items

Hi, Madison,

Just make sure items are securely packed in a box and don't shake around,
and making sure the braille paper is nice and flat.

Make sure all print labels are torn off, or that other print on the box you
are using is crossed out or covered with opaque tape or labels.

Also make sure all seams are taped so that any edges can't tear in the mail
processing.

I don't know if Free Matter laws apply between Canada and the United States,
as have never shipped to Canada, check with your post office.

Judy

Subject: [BlindTlk] question about shipping items

Hi all,
Hi all,
I know this is a bit off-topic and I'm sorry for this but I wasn't sure
where else to ask so I'm hoping that I won't get in trouble for asking this
since all of you are either blind or have low vision. This is something that
I've wondered about for awhile and since I might be shipping a few things
and my parents were worried about the cost since the lady lives in
Pennsylvania I got to wondering about this again. Before anyone asks, I'd be
shipping braille papper, a braille eraser, a pad to go under a brailler and
a little stand or shelf to make it easier to read the papper that's in the
brailler. I don't have a brailler and don't want or have any plans of
getting one and so when she posted looking for braille papper and an eraser
I figured I'd send them to her. Now for my question, do any of you have any
experience shipping anything as "free matter for the blind."? If so then
what do I need to know about doing it? Look forward to any help anyone can
provide me!!!!!! Thanks Madison
