A pair of android apps I think hold promise for those who find google docs
overly complex and too artsy.  The apps are old school editor and old
school editor pro.  These apps have no ads in them and the pro version for
those in the United States costs $1.49.  These are basic editor
applications.  If you know edit on msdos or wordpad on windows the classic
interface will be right at home for you.  There's also an android
interface with a navigation drawer added to it.  The .txt extension is the
default but you can change that too.  One thing I need to check out is how
well these work with bluetooth keyboards since I didn't do that yet.
