[BlindTlk] question about determining the length of a cane

Hi, Madison. You don't need sighted assistance for this.

The recommended height now is at the collar bone, that usually gives you
enough length to safely stop. If you are a fast walker, you may need
longer.

Back in the fifties, early sixties, they used to say cane length at the
sternum, but learned better. Times have changed!

Subject: [BlindTlk] question about determining the length of a cane

Hi all,
I was just wondering, is there a way to tell if my current cane is the right
length for me without sighted assistance? I've had it for awhile and I'm
curious to know if it's still the right length for me. Just curious that's
all. Thanks for any info that anyone can provide me!
Madison
