[BlindTlk] question about determining the length of a cane

My favorite saying is, nose to toes for regular-speed walkers. If the
person's walking is faster, then additional lengths are recommended. I'm 5
foot 8 and I use a 63 or 65 inch cane on most days. Sometimes a 61, but
rarely anything shorter than that.

Hi, Madison.  You don't need sighted assistance for this.

The recommended height now is at the collar bone, that usually gives you
enough length to safely stop.  If you are a fast walker, you may need
longer.

Back in the fifties, early sixties, they used to say cane length at the
sternum, but learned better.   Times have changed!
