Hi,

To answer your first question, no I've never had any difficulty with
addressing accessibility issues. I attend church. I've used my cane and I
speak to those who speak to me. What I'm saying is that I'm not too involved
in church.
My pastor know me and my family. But I never discussed anything related to
blindness topics.

I agree. By the way, have you guys ever heard this service called Subsplash?
My church is, sadly, switching to a new service called Subsplash. The church
also has an app, in which the app, is accessible as of now.

Hello everyone,

And some of the churches that don't have bus ministries are megachurches
with mega funds to spend. If they can operate their own schools, homes for
unwed mothers to be, and operate many other ministries they should be able
to operate bus ministries so all who wish to attend church in person can do
so.

Some churches do not have any bus ministry or rideshare setup while others
will.

One of the churches we attended, when we let it known we would need rides,
the pastor very appropriately announced it, to our surprise, and we had
several offers for regular rides. Sometimes, it's just helping people to
understand the need and offering to help out with gas.

Another church helped out when I called the church office to try to set
something up. It is helping them to understand that a ride doesn't
necessarily mean an accessible van.

They don't have to abide by ADA, so you really need to hope that the father
steps in, here.

Haven't had much luck, though I've been to a few accessibility presentations
at churches, one to be exact.

If it is too hard, they will try nicely to get around it.

You can sometimes get volunteers to help you with stuff, I've found that
works fairly well in church.

I had a pastor at a church tell me they couldn't have someone come to get me
on Sundays, even though they had a 5000 member church. The church had an
elevator in it; it was huge.

So, it is hit and miss. You'll have to probably do more teaching and
educating in this instance. Show them the WACG guidelines.

Thanks,

Justin

For those of you that go to church, have you ever had to advocate for
accessible accommodations? For example, my church is switching websites, and
I'm trying my best to ensure accessibility to include everyone.

Sincerely,
