Hi Ed,
Just out of curiosity why'd you replace your 4th gen? I sent mine in for a cleaning but since we just did that a year or two ago I'm worried about it; I frequently have to arrow character by character to tell what I'm reading as I often can't tell what I'm reading otherwise.

Hi Madison,

I literally replaced my 4th gen with a 5th gen last week.

My initial impressions are that it's better built - mainly metal rather than mainly plastic.

It's slightly heavier and slightly longer.

You may already be aware, but it now has some limited notetaking functionality and file creation capability, supporting SD cards and limited data transfer via cable.

I haven’t noticed any difference in the braille.
