Practicing over the sink with water is a good idea. Also, I'm assuming you know how to put your clean fingertip a little in to the glass so you can feel where the stream is and the level.

Subject: [BlindTlk] getting my own milk
Hi all,
For Christmas Mom got me this pump thing that goes on the jugs of milk but I like the taste of the milk in the cartons way better (it's actually does taste different so I'm not crazy; it's something to do with the wax coating on the
cartons) so I never wanted the thing in the first place but didn't have the nerve to tell her when she first told me about it a couple of months before Christmas. I find it hard holding the cup up to the pump especially as it gets fuller but pouring from the carton has resulted in several spillages including a couple that have resulted in milk running all down the cupboards and onto the floor. Mom gets really mad when this happens and today she said that we're going back to the jugs but I told her that if I'm doing it then I can use what I want; even sighted people make messes and I'd think that most visually impaired people pour things from cartons and don't need a fancy gadget to help them get a drink.
What do you think I should do? I'm in a really bad mood about this so I really need help and to vent. Thanks for reading, Madison
