Right, I love the response.

My primary care doc is great, and we're very much on the same page.

We must remember we are the consumers, and decide if educating one is the best way to go, or to just part company.  

You have the right to do so.

One thing I was advised when seeking my first pediatrician for our newborn is to ask for a consultation appointment.  Make it clear this is consultation only.  You are interviewing the doctor.  A bit about body language, if you stand comfortably while the doc is sitting, another way to show you control the interview.  You are the consumer looking for services.

The pediatrician we decided upon became a life-long friend, and our older daughter ended up working for him at the beginning of her job career.

Hi Judy,

Yes I think he does need an education but I would love to find another doctor. I think it is sad the doctors don't bother to get to know you nowadays they just want to spend time entering data on the computer. My eye doctor on the other hand is just the opposite, I've known him for over 30 years and he is also a martial artist. I told him what my GP said and he asked me what his reaction was and I said well he didn't really say anything and he said Yeah he didn't dare. I love my eye doctor
