Hmmmm.
We are cord cutters, ourselves. When I bought the TV, just to be safe, I had the salesman activate the voice guidance for me, although I found out later I could have done that myself, nice to know.
The activation code popped up on the TV screen and was read aloud to me to enter on my phone. We have no box of any kind. I'm not understanding what the box would have to do with it, if you are just trying to sign into your tv itself.

I have voice guideance on the tv, but the directv satellite box doesn't
know anything about accessibility and was put in before 2010. That box
needs to be replaced and that may happen eventually.
