Hi, David,
Youtube, itself offers little to no descriptive service, but you may have better luck with the other services.
Nevertheless, we have a Youtube premium subscription and still enjoy all the videos.
We, too, have not had cable service for probably fifteen years now, and have not missed it. We stream everything either to the cell phone, mainly my Motorola Razr2024, Samsung phones, or cast from the phone to the TV. We have an LG TV with the voice guidance.
We can also access Youtube directly from the TV, but I prefer the way the phone handles Youtube better and simply cast to the flat screen.

Subject: [BlindTlk] FW: Television dilemma question
Hello everyone,
Forgive me if my ignorance is showing, but I have a television technology question…
We have decided to ditch the cable and use a Roku with YouTube service. Is there a system that has Voice access to what’s displayed on the screen. If so, would I need a smart TV?
Thanks much.
