If he’s not tech-savvy, then personally I wouldn’t switch as it’s a pretty significant difference, definitely something he’d have to get used to.
Yes Macs can be more secure, but it’s not like Windows doesn’t have security features, especially when combined with an antivirus software.
I’ve been using the Mac for the last 13 years and am switching back to Windows, myself. It’s not the panacea some people make it out to be.

Subject: [BlindTlk] differences/similarities between Macs and Windows PCs
Hi all,
Not sure if anyone can help me as my dad isn't visually impaired but Dad looking at buying a new home computer because the current can't be updated to Windows 11 and Windows 10 goes out of support in October 2025 and also it's running out of storage space. Dad is thinking that he wants to get a Mac because they're apparently more secure but I know nothing about them and have no interest in learning a whole new OS but I'm the resident IT person (Dad isn't tech savvy at all); he uses it for email, going on the Internet and he also does bookkeeping I guess you'd call it for the farmland that he rents out. So what are the differences/similarities between Macs and Windows PCs? Thanks for any thoughts/info that anyone can provide me!
Madison
