Assistive Technology Focus Group for Blind Veterans
Conducted By: Illinois Institute of Technology
Sponsored By: Telemedicine and Advanced Technology Research Center
Veterans who are totally blind or have light perception only are needed to
participate in a two-hour focus group designed to help researchers
understand the perspectives of veterans on vision implant technology.
An information session describing the technology will be held at The
Lighthouse for the Blind. The focus groups will be audio and video recorded at a
meeting room or classroom in the greater Chicago area, and participants
who complete the focus group will be compensated $75. Participation in this
study provides the opportunity to contribute to scientific knowledge and
helping to develop implant technology that better meets the needs of veterans
with vision loss.

• Totally blind or with light perception only
· Able to comfortably sit through a two hour focus group
• Able to travel to the greater Chicago area
