Dear Blinded Veterans,
My name is Marianne Haas.  I am on the board of the Lions Center for the
Blind in Oakland.  I have the ability to live independently due to services
at the Lions Center in Oakland.  

I am deeply concerned about the impending closure of the Lions Center.
There are not many agencies for the blind in this area.  With the closure of
the Lions Center, fewer agencies have to provide services to more clients.
This may result in the decrease of quality of services.  

The Board of the Lions Center is working on alternatives how to provide
services in the most effective way.  We appreciate donations, big and small
to keep the doors to services for the blind open.
