[blparent] How Fast Babies Grow

My Gabriella has been sick these past couple of days, so hasn't really been getting up to much. Poor
thing. I wish I could make it all better for her.

She never ceases to amaze me with how smart she is and how quickly she learns. It's awesome to watch
her grow, even though it's kinda sad at times. She's not staying little forever. Sniffles. I sure
miss the newborn days, but I love every new stage we come to because of the new things there are to
learn and the new challenges to overcome!

Bella says "cookie" and "book" and "shoes" and "spoon" and "agua" and some other ones I'm not
remembering. Her vocabulary has really expanded in the past couple of months or so. I just love her
to bits! She's getting better at coming to me when called, so that makes me feel good. I went from
having to go over there and spank her for not coming, to threatening to spank her, to saying "come
here please" twice. LOL. Kids, what can you do?

I feel very blessed to have such a sweet little girl. She loves to hug and kiss and be snuggled.
That probably won't last for long, but I can hope, right? Smiles. If she has something she
shouldn't, she'll bring it to me. I will say thank you before telling her to put it back, and she
returns it to its original place, 90% of the time. She will say "good boy" to my guide dog, because
I say it so many times. She also says thank you whenever she gives me anything. LOL.

Anyway, I'd better go put her to bed. It's late here and the poor thing is slumped next to me on the
couch.

A smile costs nothing but gives much. It enriches those who receive without making poorer those who
give. It takes but a moment, but the memory of it sometimes lasts forever. None is so rich or
mighty that he cannot get along without it and none is so poor that he cannot be made rich by it.
Yet a smile cannot be bought, begged, borrowed, or stolen, for it is something that is of no value
to anyone until it is given away. Some people are too tired to give you a smile. Give them one of
yours, as none needs a smile so much as he who has no more to give.
