I remember standing next to the baby at night listening to her breathing. I
thought I was just a paranoid mom, but before I could go to sleep I needed
to hear her. Sometimes if I couldn't hear the breath, I would actually put
my hand on her chest and wait to feel it move. Ok, I'm still guilty of
listening. V

Hi,

Colyn is doing well with Remus, and he tells everybody how cute he is and
how much he loves his baby brother. He helps us change and burp Remus and
he watches him in the playpen when he is sleeping there which often means he
wakes Remus up which sometimes causes problems. He's not too hapy that
Remus can't do anything yet and that he just has to eat sleep and poop as he

puts it. He asked me if Remus could ride in the dumper of his dump truck
the other day and was upset when I told him no, and explained to him that
Remus is too little to do much right now. He can't wait until he can teach
Remus to play with toys and all, and he often tells us that he'll teach
Remus to laugh or sing or to play with blocks or trains or whatever he's
doing. I've heard him in his room talking to his trains about Remus and
he's really cute telling them about how Remus cries and poops and eats from
mama.
As for where Remus is sleeping, right now he sleeps with us in a basinette
by our bed. He does have his own room and it's all set up for him, but I
find he's too far away from me at night and it's easier for now just to have
him next to the bed. I still find myself checking to see if he's still
breathing, and I can't do that from the other room. Unless we have another
baby the boys will not have to share a room. I think they'll cause enough
trouble together without having nights to plan their attacks. grin
