One good way to take off the loose splinters on wood is by rubbing it with
an old paper sack. V

I've found sweeping my own splintery porch helps quite a bit. And I make
the kids wear shoes when they are playing on it. Other folks paint their
porches though I think the paint makes them even more slippery when it gets
wet. When we Power washed and painted our ancient porch with a cealent,
it only seemed to bring out the splinters. Though I was able to knock them
off with the broom. I was told that I shouldn't sand my porch since the
wood has been pressure treated with a toxin that I can't remember the name
of right now.

The body deals with foreign materials that are buried deep by forming a
cealed pocket around the object. If the pocket is close enough to the skin's
surface it will eventually open like a blister and eject the object.
Otherwise it forms those little hard lumps that you may have encountered
with a pimple that never pops.

I love the other suggestions . When my sighted husband can't remove the
splinter with the tweezers we fall back on the antibiotic and bandaid
method.

Thank you.
What do you do when it's in deep?
We've got a deck that is bound to give somebody a splinter hence my
question.

I don't know if that works, but I've used tape when the splinter isn't
in very deep. Just put the tape on the area and pull it off.

	Hi everybody.
Do any of you have any good ways to remove splinters? No, nobody has
one... yet, I'm just taking a premptive strike. I've read that Elmer's
glue will work that if you apply it to skin with a splinter and wait for
it to dry and then peel the glue off, the splinter will come with it.
Anybody know if this works?
