Let's see. We don't plan to go overboard, but a couple of the things we are
thinking about are a toy clock that is shaped like an owl, a drum, and a
little toolbox with a plastic hammer and screwdrivers in it. Sarah, who is
twenty-one months old today, has gotten fascinated with watching her daddy
work at his bench fixing clocks, so we thought if she had her own tools,
that might be good. She's gotten a sense of rhythm lately, which is why we
are thinking about the drum.
Doesn't your baby have a big sister? It might be fun to get something the
two girls could play with together. There are some nice toys on Melissa's
Discovery Toys site that Sarah likes to share with anybody who will take the
time. One is a caterpillar that works on a spring so you can send it
scooting across the floor to each other. Sarah's still learning about
turning the caterpillar around to get it going the right direction, but she
loves it. The other toy we bought is a ship that is built like a little
ramp. You drop small plastic balls into the top, and they roll down and
come out the bottom. The toy sounds simple, but it keeps Sarah entertained
for hours.
Good luck!
Jo Elizabeth
