You wouldn't happen to live near Flemminton NJ.  I'd love to find a scrabble
partner.

My son and I usually make it to 4 words a piece before we add  up our
points. He's only in first grade so it's a lot of work for him adult or kids
version.

I do have the adult version. But he is very antsy anyway, so I don't think 
we'd get through an entire game of scrabble. I'm the only word freak in our 
family who loves spelling, anagrams, all that stuff. I've even been known to

take the scrabble board and play on my own.

I'm thinking of Braille Monopoly too. Deven says he enjoys math, and that
would help him practice. It's a good game for the whole family. I have a
scrabble, but he gets frustrated trying to spell and sound out words for a
long period of time. Maybe Connect 4, and I got us some Braille playing
cards, so Go Fish and any other games we can play using cards.

If you want to get a ball without bells, I would get a soft basketball or
some sort of rubber bouncy ball and bounce it back and forth on a hard
floor.  Mason and I play catch with basketballs, because if he bounces it
once I can hold out my hands and usually catch it.  But the nerf balls don't

make any noise at all so unless he hits you right in the chest you might
have a hard time catching those.
Have you thought about trying Jenga or Dominos?  We love games like that.
Yatsi is a good one, and so is monopoly.  I used to play monopoly with my
cousins and I would just keep my money separated into piles by bills.  It's
a lot of decision making and not a lot of moves.  But I also bought Mason
the chess/checker board and pieces so we can play either of those together.
My kids are really into the thinking games right now like outburst junior
and scattergories.  They love trivia games too.  Mason does all the reading
but we can all participate so it works for our family.
Those are some of the things we do on our family night.  I'm getting Mason
an air hockey table for Christmas this year because we love to try to play
that with him.  He wins a lot but it's fun to try to block his shots and
that's the challenge he finds in it. *smile*
