My husband and I are both blind. We bought a simple Whirlpool washer and
dryer set used on ebay and had someone read the controls we would use. Then
we used a Braille labeler and put labels on the settings for hot, warm and
cold. We also had my dad put a dot of hot glue in various places so we could
line up the pointer on the dial in order to start the washer. Often the
simpler appliances without a lot of bells and whistles are cheaper and can
be adapted quite easily. I got this idea from the
www.nfb.org site where they have a page that recommends some accessible
appliances. This particular washer and dryer were not on there, but the idea
of buying simple and doing our own labeling was. I hope this helps.
