Hi, Dianna. Congratulations on your new little girl. Zianna is a pretty
name. I had a baby girl by C-section a year ago, actually she'll turn a
year old this Sunday.
I don't see why you and your husband would need an assessment of your home
or your parenting just because you are blind, but unfortunately, even in the
medical field, some people aren't educated about what those with
disabilities can do. Sometimes well-meaning but nosy people, or those with
less than good intent, try to interfere with your parenting. If you feel
like you need some help or training in how to care for your baby, there are
classes you can take. The hospitals often put on the classes. But
otherwise, you shouldn't be required to undergo any assessments that any
other parent wouldn't have to go through.
