Hi Jennifer,
I had to write back to you, I was chuckling as I read your e-mail, because
that is exactly how my Mom raised us! I whole-heartedly agree with you!
Growing up, I was one of 4, my Mom did the exact thing. And do you know, my
3 brothers and I are all very healthy not picky eaters as adults?! My Mom
would always make sure that we drank a glass of milk, first, and if there
happened to be a "treat" drink in the house like soda or juice, (soda
usually only in the house, if there was going to be a party) then we could
have the treat drink, after we had had one glass of milk I can remember
going to bed hungry, and I can also remember my brothers going to bed
hungry, but not for very long, as they were very active in sports, and
you're right, they ate whatever was in front of them, they even ate liver,
once, which I can say that I tried, but boy was that hard to get down!
Amy.
