[blparent] a new blind parent

It's a disposal system for diapers. Basically, it's a glorified pail with a
lid that locks down. When you put the diaper in, you close the lid and
twist it, and the diaper is wrapped in plastic and sealed. The system is
supposed to cut down on the smell, but honestly, I don't think it's any
better than wrapping the diapers in plastic bags, tying a knot, and tossing
them in the trash. By the time the Diaper Genie is ready to empty, the
smell is pretty bad every time you open it. Besides that, the plastic
refills cost about $5 each. I thought the Genie was a necessity before my
baby was born, but if I were starting over again, I'd just get a pail with a
lid that locked in place to keep pets and curious babies out, and line it
with a trash bag.
