[blparent] Items you couldn't live without

We use the diaper champ. It is like what Jo Elizabeth describes,
basically a pail with a toddler proof locking
mechanism and it uses plastic trash bags.
We had a genie for awhile and the only feature I loved about it was that
when you removed the liner, you had what looked like a s*** sausage. The
diaper champ doesn't provide that level of commedic value much to my
sadness.
Know too that with the genie, you have to buy the right kind of liners
that go with the right kind of guinene . Not a problem
just one more thing to keep in mind.

I bought the Diaper Genie, but I think it is a pain in the neck to
refill.
If I had it to do over again, I would probably just buy a pail with a
lid
that closes tight, and put a trash bag in it. That would be easier to
empty
and refill, and besides, the refill plastic for the Diaper Genie costs
almost five dollars each time. Granted, you can refill the pail many
times
on the same roll, but it is still a lot of money added up over the
months.
Remember that if you have a dog, guide dog or otherwise, or once your
baby
is curious and mobile, you do want a pail with a lid that locks down.
Babies don't seem to mind the awful smell of old diapers, and neither do

pets.
