[blparent] French Braid

So are we talking more than 3 bunches of hair, like you start with 3 and
then pick up another bunch.  See when I try this I tend to drop the orginal
3 bunches.  Am I missing something? V

What Melissa says about the hair being wet is very true. If you braid the 
hair wet it will come out much tighter, and because it dries that way, it's 
likely to stay in position longer. I do the braid slightly different than 
the other explaination you received; maybe because my hair isn't quite as 
long. I begin the same way, by grabbing a section of hair at the top/middle 
of my head. I divide that section into 3, and begin braiding. I grab a bit 
of hair from each side every time I do a cross over. That's how I was taught

to do it, and I find my braids stay quite tight. In fact, aI have one in my 
hair right now.
