That's how I feel about Barret, I don't really know what this baby was, but
I felt that it was a boy. V

He would have been Joel Michael. We didn't know for sure yet whether the
baby was a boy or a girl, so if a girl came, she would have been Jamie
Elizabeth. But I always felt in my heart we'd lost a boy.

An aunt of mine told me once that she was talking to one of her sisters
about losing three babies to miscarriage before she finally gave birth to
her two children, who are now young adults. At the time, her son was only
three or four years old. She said she told her sister she always wondered
who the lost babies would have been, and it made her sad. Her toddler son
stopped playing, walked right up to her, and said in all seriousness, "Don't

worry, Mommy. It was me. I couldn't decide if I wanted to get born or not,

so I didn't. But now I came." And he ran off to play as if it were
nothing. I didn't hear all of this firsthand, but my aunt believes she got
her lost baby in the end. God works in mysterious ways.
