[blparent] expect the unexpected

Easy/hardaren't the words I'd use. It's more that you have to deal with
real time events when they pop up, regardless of what may be planned for
that day.
For example, I was volenteering at an air show this weekend. We were
supposed to be there at 8 in the morning. My daughter was coming with
me. The first thing you need to understand is that a tired kid makes
life miserable for all. I contemplated waking her early and decided that
while doing so may get us there on time, we'd all wish we hadn't been
there on time.
Anyway, she woke up normal time and I discovered that she was doing the
back stroke in her crib. She'd sprung a huge leak from her angkes up to
her neck or so it seemed. So she needed a bath which delayed us and I
had to strip her bed and get that in the wash. We did get out there and
had a great time, and the guy in charge was cool about everything.
So, my point is that you will need to do two things,
1. Be ready and able to handle real time events.
2. Surround yourself with people who "get it". Babies and toddlers
aren't really cognisent of any schedule or commitments you need to keep.
They are the ultimate in what is going on at any given moment.

So when Gab was a tiny baby I thought it would be soo easy. Just dress
her and go. Okay, I found out the hard way, you can't expect anything.
Just as you are ready to leave pow, someone's outfit is wet again and lo
and behold you are late. V
